Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you want to help shape a learning journey that unlocks every child’s potential? Danecourt School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed HLTA to join our dedicated team.

About the Role:
You’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver meaningful, engaging learning opportunities to primary-aged pupils with complex needs. Your role will include:

  • Leading learning activities with individuals, small groups, or whole classes

  • Supporting lesson planning and delivering tailored content that meets diverse needs

  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress to inform next steps

  • Providing whole-class cover during teacher PPA or absence

  • Embedding strategies collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENDCo

  • Championing inclusion, emotional regulation, and pupil voice throughout the day

An HLTA qualification is desirable but not essential — we value passion, experience, and leadership in the classroom.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Confident delivering whole-class lessons in a SEND or inclusive setting

  • Experienced in supporting pupils with communication and sensory needs

  • Skilled in literacy/numeracy interventions and engagement strategies

  • A strong communicator who works well with pupils, families, and teams

  • Passionate about inclusion and able to make learning fun, accessible, and meaningful

  • Proactive, organised, and eager to grow professionally

  • HLTA-qualified or equivalent (Level 4 desirable)

Our schools transform through collaboration and an entrepreneurial curriculum which equips children with life skills. We are a special school catering for primary aged children who have special educational needs. The children who attend Danecourt have a wide breadth of needs including complex learning difficulties and autism.
