Lynsted and Norton School Before and After-School Club (BASC) is a new exciting provision for primary school children. The ideal candidate will work as part of the Lynsted and Norton staff with children aged 4-11 years. We are currently recruiting support workers to work up to 15 hours a week (minimum 6 hours).

Working days would be Monday to Friday (term time only)

The working hours are 7:30am to 8:30am and 3:00pm-5:00pm. 

Ideally, we would prefer applicants who could work every day, Monday to Friday however, there is some flexibility with days and sessions.

Essential Requirements:  

  • Fun, passionate and enthusiastic for working with children
  • Knows how to create a fun and creative working environment for children
  • Able to interact well with both children and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills together with sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children
  • Ability to work on own initiative

Responsibilities and Duties

Main duties include:

  • Preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
  • Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
  • Administering first aid when necessary.
  • Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
  • Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the club, with schools, and especially with parents.
  • Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
  • Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check along with other pre-employment checks which must be undertaken before the role is confirmed by the school.
