Due to the increasing numbers at our popular nursery, we are looking for a Nursery Assistant to join us.

Do you enjoy making mud pies, exploring the undergrowth for creepy crawlies, drinking imaginary cups of tea and crawling in and out of pirate ships? If so, we could be the nursery for you!

We are looking to appoint a caring, confident and loyal Nursery Assistant who is passionate about working with children, and helping them to fulfil their potential.  We are looking for someone who is friendly and approachable, able to work on their own initiative and to manage their time effectively and who is driven to provide opportunities and enjoyment for children allowing us all to achieve together.

The successful candidate will have a varied role, supporting children in the nursery as well as working with small groups or individuals as needed, providing additional support under the direction of the Nursery Manager and Trust EYFS Manager.

You will be joining an incredible group of people who love what we do and have great fun doing it! We believe in our staff and aim to support them to be the best they can be, and to progress in their career. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to identify and follow best practice within the nursery setting to ensure it is maintained and safe for all children
  • Promote learning through play, following the EYFS Profile
  • Ability to provide care to all children whilst creating a trusting and friendly atmosphere 
  • Attend staff meetings within nursery setting if required
  • Oversee and maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment
  • Plan, observe and keep records of the child's development to inform parents
  • Changing nappies or helping with potty/toilet training
  • Working with any health and social care professionals, where necessary
  • Be a Key Worker
  • Be a Paediatric First Aider 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • Ability to successfully interact with children
  • A caring and patient nature
  • Ability to be punctual and trustworthy at all times
  • Ability to be a team player and able to have the initiative to work alone
  • Experience within childcare sector preferred
  • Childcare qualifications are essential - level 3 desirable, level 2 considered. 
  • Good communication skills both with children and parents
  • Consider applications from those able to work 13 Hours Per Week (2 Days) 08.30 - 15.30 term-time on a fixed term contract until 31/08/2026.
