An exciting opportunity has become available at St. Saviour's Church of England Junior School.  The permanent post will be for 37 hours per week full time.   

We are looking for someone with experience in premises management or has worked in one of the construction trades.  Experience and knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH legislation is desirable.  The successful applicant would be responsible for all aspects of running the school site.  The work involves: managing a small team of cleaners, arranging maintenance work, ensuring the health and safety for children and staff.  You would be expected to carry out routine work on the school site and arrange external trades to carry out any more involved work.  There are daily, weekly and yearly health and safety checks (eg. fire safety, legionella, PAT testing, fixed wiring checks, tree surveys, play equipment) to complete or arrange.  We are looking for someone who is trustworthy, dependable and organised.  We are a welcoming, well-resourced school with a skilled staff team and lovely children. 

Working hours will be 6.00am until 2.00pm on Mon, Tuesday and Wednesday and 6.00am until 3pm on Thursday and Friday.  The 6.00am start is a vital part of the role as you will responsible for unlocking the school and supervising our cleaners.

 

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be committed to working within a team to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and staff
  • Have experience of basic maintenance and groundskeeping work - have practical skills
  • Have experience of Health and Safety record keeping and emails
  • Be reliable and trustworthy
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and/or COSHH best practice
  • Clean driving licence
