We are seeking to appoint a committed and talented Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) at our small,  friendly village school.

The hours of work are Monday-Friday 8.30 am- 3.30 pm (32.5 hours), term time only to include INSET days.

As an HLTA, the successful candidate will support the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher in KS2. There will be times throughout the week when you are working with a small group of children or sometimes with the whole class, whilst the teacher works with small groups.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • has experience in leading small-group teaching and working with the whole class
  • has experience supporting young people
  • is proactive, positive, calm, and flexible
  • has high expectations of themselves and the children they work with
  • has excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • is committed to working as part of a team

In return, we can offer:

  • Well-behaved children who are keen to learn
  • A supportive and friendly staff team
  • The opportunity to develop professionally
  • Collaborative working within our Federation of 8 schools

Groombridge is part of the Pioneer Federation, a federation of 8 small schools who work closely together to improve the education for all of our pupils.

This post is initially for one year (2025-26) due to a bulge in numbers in the school.

Visits to the school are warmly welcome. Please contact the school office.

Groombridge St Thomas is committed to safeguarding. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS check and be expected to provide at least two professional references.

Closing date for applications is Monday 30th June, 9 am
