Laleham Gap School is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to oversee and coordinate cleaning operations, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and safety for our exceptional students and staff.

This role offers a 30 hour workweek on a year-round contract, with 28 days of holiday, all to be taken during the school holidays.

Working Hours: 

Term Time: Monday – Friday: 12:00 – 18:30

School Holidays: Monday – Friday: 07.30 – 14:00

The Role

As Cleaning Supervisor, you will: Lead a dedicated cleaning team, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and to a high standard. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and safeguarding protocols.  Plan and oversee daily cleaning routines, responding to urgent cleaning needs as required. Monitor stock levels, manage the cleaning budget, and ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning supplies.  Support the wider school community, contributing to our ethos of respect, development, and achievement.

Who We’re Looking For

We are searching for a motivated individual with:

  • Experience in a cleaning role, preferably in a school or similar environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience, with strong leadership, organisational skills and exceptional communication abilities to clearly convey instructions, listen attentively to concerns, and foster a positive team dynamic.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices, including workplace safety and hygiene regulations.
  • A proactive and professional approach, ensuring clear, respectful, and effective communication when engaging with staff, students, and visitors to maintain a welcoming and collaborative environment.

Laleham Gap is a Communication and Interaction Special School. We have pupils aged from 4 to 18 years of age. Most of our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism. All pupils have an EHCP. Most pupils will achieve some GCSEs or equivalent at age 16. Laleham Gap is a new, high quality and well-resourced environment and the opportunity to work with an established, experienced and highly motivated team.
