We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic SENDCo and Inclusion Lead with a passion for the education and mental well-being of our most vulnerable children to join our forward-thinking, caring and experienced team at Ramsgate Holy Trinity CE Primary School. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving the strategic development of SEND policy and provision.

We know the challenges of being a SENDCo and are fully aware that the future of inclusion lies in the ability to be creative and courageous. We are committed to making this role one in which the successful candidate enjoys a balance between having the freedom to exercise this creativity and passion in their approach, whilst being supported by the Deputy and Headteacher.

Part of our drive to make this manageable is it being a part-time, non-class-based role, equivalent to 0.6. As there is no regular teaching responsibility, we can offer a degree of flexibility around what this looks like across a week; we are open to this being fixed or flexible.

What we can offer you:

Fantastic children, supportive parents, and a professional team who work hard to meet children's needs.

A school ethos rooted in respect for all; a commitment to well-being and to honest and open dialogue around work/life balance.

A supportive, welcoming and collaborative staff dedicated to children's success.

School leaders who are committed to creating a positive work environment that values your well-being and time and who understand and invest in professional, personal and spiritual growth.

A school community that embraces a sense of fun, and where play is recognised as an integral part of the day, as demonstrated by our Platinum OPAL status.

Policies and procedures that reflect research and deep knowledge of how to remove barriers for children and how to treat each other with respect and dignity.

What we are looking for:

A person who can lead the school’s SEND provision with innovation and passion during this challenging time to ensure teaching and learning reflects the needs of the learners across the school.

A highly skilled communicator. who is not daunted by the need for relentless pursuit of outcomes for pupils by liaising with outside agencies, parents and colleagues and who is

A team player who is intuitive, empathetic and kind, with a good sense of humour.

A creative problem solver who understands the SEND code of practice and can support others in its implementation.

Somebody who, once trained, is able to embrace the rationale and approaches of both OPAL and Thrive, as both are embedded within our school.

As a small school, everyone is a curriculum leader. The successful applicant may be required to lead a subject across the school and work within one of our Curriculum Hubs.

Information about the school

Our church school status means we have a strong Christian ethos, which enriches both our collective worship and school values of Faith, Hope and Love.

We expect prospective applicants to visit our school, where you will receive a warm welcome. Although it is always better to see a school 'in action', we would be happy to have visitors any time before 5pm.

Ramsgate Holy Trinity CE Primary School is fully committed to the welfare of pupils and safeguarding. This post is dependent on a Disclosure Barring Service check, Health checks and satisfactory references.
