We are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile and highly motivated person to join our valued and supportive team in our successful and popular federation of schools. We wish to appoint a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, to work within our school. The position will consist  of 1-1 support of a child and interventions well as supporting children at lunchtime. 

The position is 5 days a week, 8:30am to 3:30pm.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be creative, enthusiastic practitioner who has the energy and determination to make a difference.
  • Have a good standard of general education
  • Have an NVQ CACHE Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants.
  • Have a good understanding of current educational thinking and initiatives.
  • Be a caring, understanding person, who loves working with children and who is committed to supporting high standards and enjoyment of learning.
  • Have a good understanding of, and a desire to effectively support, children with additional needs.
  • To have an interest in developing their understanding of supporting pupils with SEN and communication difficulties.
  • Have experience of  working with children 
  • Have the ability to work in a close team to achieve the best for our children and school community.
  • Have a desire to be involved in all aspects of school life.

St Martin's Church of England Primary School is situated in a coastal setting in Folkestone. St Martin's is an outstanding half form entry school and enjoys excellent links with the local church, St Martin's, and the surrounding community. . The school has 7 classes, each with an average size of 30 children. St Martin's CEP School works closely with it's sister school Seabrook CEP School which it federated with in 2017. The schools share an Executive Headteacher and a leadership team that work across both sites. There are excellent working relationships across the federation which enable staff, children and families to work in partnership to support the education of the children.
