Do you strive to make a difference to the place you work and the pupils you support?

Would you like to be part of a small, active, supportive and friendly team?

Are you an effective, inspirational and motivated person?

Yes?

Then, would you like to work in our small but lively village Primary School?

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic full time teaching assistant with a positive 'can do' attitude to support one of our visually impaired pupils from September 2025 when they are due to start school in Year R.  Ideally, we would like the right person to join our team as soon as possible, in order to work with the team in the classroom to support the child's transition to school visits and to undergo training specific to the role during the summer.

We can offer you a friendly ‘family’ ethos, a well resourced working environment, a staff team that is caring and committed to ensuring children’s maximum achievement, delightful pupils to work with and supportive governors and parents.  Inclusion is at the heart of our practice and aspiration that pupils can and will achieve no matter what the barriers are.

We need someone who has high expectations and a drive to improve outcomes for our learners. The applicant should be a good team player but also be self motivated and able to act upon their own initiative.  The ideal applicant should have a good understanding of child development and of how children learn and be able to enthuse, engage and challenge children in their learning journey.  High standards of personal numeracy and literacy are expected in order that our pupils benefit from these when being supported.

The applicant should understand that working in a small school often means going the extra mile without being asked, because it benefits the whole community - especially the pupils.

Visits to the school to talk about what you can bring to the school and what the role specifically involves, are strongly recommended. Please contact the school office to make the necessary arrangements and/or to request an applicant’s pack. Applications on line are also welcomed.

Langdon Primary School is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of children’s welfare. The post is subject to checks in line with this commitment including an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check.

Information about the school

Langdon Primary School is in the small village of East Langdon between Deal and Dover. The school is very much part of the community and links with other groups are strong. Our Governing Body and parents are exceptionally supportive of the school. There is a positive ‘family’ feel amongst our 93 children and staff; older children are encouraged to take nurturing and leadership roles in order to ensure that everyone is valued and younger children learn from their older role models. We have a very positive ethos for learning and we put high expectations of achievement and progress at the heart of what we do. The school had its last Ofsted inspection in May 2025.
