An exciting opportunity has arisen, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated individual to be an additional Payroll Manager within Rivermead Inclusive Trust Offices, we require a person with good communication and interpersonal skills, a flexible attitude to work is essential. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager who will be responsible for the effective processing of the monthly payroll system.

This role will involve working with the Chief Operating Officer and Human Resources Manager. The Payroll Manager will ensure the smooth running of the payroll monthly and provide an efficient and effective service. The role will involve liaising with Senior leaders and all school based employees across the Trust. Training will be provided for internal systems.

Responsibilites:

  • Ensuring that internal policies and procedures are effective and compliant
  • Management of month end and year end procedures ensuring timelines and deadlines are met
  • To ensure compliance of HMRC, Payroll & Pension regulations/legislation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal staff
  • Resolution of all payroll issues – problem solving, resolving enquires
  • To be the main point of contact for payroll queries on a wide range, school teachers and employees pay and benefits
  • Responsible for responding and resolving enquiries
  • Communication of relevant information
  • Keeping abreast of legislation changes/HMRC interpretations and updating the team

To be considered for the role of Payroll Manager you will:

  • Have relevant payroll qualifications or a high level of experience and skills
  • A strong understanding of setting up and maintaining payroll systems
  • Work to strict deadlines to ensure wages are paid accurately and on time
  • Attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Good standard of verbal and written communication
  • Extensive knowledge of HMRC and Payroll & Pension regulations/legislation
  • Must be able to exercise discretion in all aspects of the role(confidentiality is key)
  • Technical competence - Confidence in using Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Risk assessment, problem analysis, problem-solving and decision making skills
  • To manage, store, use and maintain personal data ensuring compliance with the Trust’s data protection policy

Desirable

  • Knowledge or previous experience with education payroll
  • Knowledge of teachers pensions and LGPS
  • Willingness to develop skills, undertake further training for qualification
