Advert

Broadwater Down is looking for an energetic and engaging teacher to cover a maternity role in school for a fixed term of 1 year.

We are an inclusive and nurturing school with a great team of staff and a wonderful, diverse local community. Candidates for this role should have knowledge of working with SEN pupils and adapting learning to the needs of all children, and be able to build positive professional relationships with pupils and parents, while delivering a rigorous curriculum that offers clear structure as well as opportunities for individual creativity and personality.

In return, we can offer a supportive team committed to development and improvement, opportunities to collaborate and share best practice, as well as pupils who make us laugh and smile every day with their personality, energy and charm.

If you are interested, we would strongly encourage all candidates to visit the school and get to know us, or to call for a discussion on the phone.

For the right candidate there is some flexibility on available year groups, as well as some potential leadership opportunities. We will also consider ECTs for this role.

Information about the school

We are a small local primary school who believe in community, diversity and excellence. We are an integral part of the community around us and enjoy the close relationships we have with pupils and their families.

In school, kindness and emotional well-being are at the core of everything we do for the children in our care. The team support each other to enrich pupils' lives with interesting learning experiences tailored to meet children's needs and contexts.

In October 2024, the school was given a Nurturing Schools Award by Nurture UK, in recognition of the work that we do to support children's mental well-being and emotional literacy.

Working at Broadwater you will find colleagues who are positive, supportive and eager to collaborate, striving to achieve the very best for the children in our care. You will find pupils who are curious, friendly and vibrant who have a wide range of cultural backgrounds and experiences which come together to form a magical school community.

We are situated near the Pantiles end of Tunbridge Wells and we are lucky to have a large site with lots of outdoor space such as a field, big playground, class outdoor areas and a courtyard. Currently, we have six classes from Reception to Year 6 with around 130 pupils on roll.

A March 2023 OFSTED inspection graded the school as good in all areas.
