Job Title:  Literacy Support Assistant 

Location:  Heath Farm School, Ashford

Salary:      £19,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours:      32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract:  Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Literacy Support Assistant to join our close-knit team at Heath Farm School.

About the Role

Our successful candidate will be passionate about raising standards in literacy across the school, be able to establish strong working relationships with staff and students alike, be able to work as part of a team and will be a reliable and an excellent communicator. Our newly appointed Literacy Support Assistant will be passionate about improving students' learning and enabling them to succeed in all areas of the school curriculum. Experience in RWO and Fresh Start Programmes is preferred but not essential.

Under direction of the English Lead, the post holder will work with students who require additional support with literacy and reading. They will be part of a diagnostic literacy team, using evidence-based strategies and interventions, which support reading fluency, phonics and blending, and comprehension.

Educated to GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, enjoy working as part of a team, and be genuinely motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.
