Groombridge St Thomas is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant with immediate effect until July 2026. Our Teaching Assistants play a crucial role in the day-to-day life of the school.  The post involves some individual pupil support and some general classroom support, under the direction of the class teacher or SENCo. Therefore, throughout the week you may be working 1:1 with a pupil, with a group of pupils or supporting generally in the class. Our TAs also play a crucial role in supporting during lunchtimes and PPA time.

The person appointed needs to have strong behaviour management skills, high expectations, good communication skills, enthusiasm, flexibility, and be a good team player, yet self-motivated enough to use their own initiative when necessary.

You should also have good numeracy and literacy skills/qualifications and prior experience of working with children.

Due to funding, the post is initially until July 2026. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.

Hours of work: 32.5 hours a week: 8.30-3.30 Monday to Friday, including a lunch break

Salary: Grade 4 £24,404-£27,970 pro rata

Term time only to include INSET days
