Are you someone who has: 

-  The ability to oversee the school's safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring they are up to date and compliant with relevant legislation; 
-  Able to act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns and liaise with external agencies, as needed;
-  Confidence to organise and provide safeguarding training and support to all colleagues, ensuring they are well-informed and equipped to protect our children and community; 
-  The ability to maintain detailed records of safeguarding concerns and actions taken.
 
We are looking to appoint an inspirational, organised and ambitious Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team to maintain an effective safeguarding culture across the school. The successful candidate will be taking responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection matters arising at the school and will support all other staff in dealing with any child protection concerns that arise.
 
You will have experience in a safeguarding, pastoral or youth support role—be empathetic, professional, and committed to supporting young people.
You should be confident handling sensitive situations, have strong communication skills, and be able to work well both independently and as part of a wider pastoral team.

We are one of the largest primary schools in Kent with over 840 children on roll, including a Pre-School that offers 30 hour provision. All new trustees, employees and volunteers will be required to undertake safeguarding training on induction which will be regularly updated in line with statutory guidance.
