Ethelbert Road Primary School is looking to appoint a caretaker who will take pride in our site and oversee the school’s maintenance and site duties. We are looking for a pro-active, adaptable and positive individual to join our established team. This role is vital for ensuring the maintenance of the school premises, buildings and equipment to ensure the safety of pupils, staff and visitors.

The role includes responsibility for:

  • Site security and checks
  • General maintenance, repairs and decorating
  • Some cleaning as and when required
  • Ensuring the outside of the site is kept tidy and clear
  • Regular fire, water, alarm tests and record keeping
  • Attending relevant training
  • Locking and unlocking the site at the end of the school day (or after contractors)
  • On call for alarm callouts (out of school hours)
  • Working flexibly to support the school and any events held

This role can be flexible, with 2 possible options:

Option A

  • 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday 7am – 9am and 2.45pm- 5.45pm
  • Term time working plus 25 days during school holidays (15 days in the summer holidays and 10 other school holiday days)
  • Pro-rata’d KSB salary – approximately £25,126.00 per year

Option B

  • 15 hours per week, Monday – Friday 2.45pm- 5.45pm
  • Term time working plus 25 days during school holidays (15 days in the summer holidays and 10 other school holiday days)
  • Pro-rata’d KSB salary – approximately £25,126.00 per year
