Are you an experienced leader with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? Danecourt Special School is seeking a dedicated Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team.

Danecourt is a respected, expanding special school in Medway, Kent, catering to children aged 4-11 with a range of complex needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive and become ‘STARS’ (Self-Reliant, Team Player, Aspirational, Resilient, Successful). We use innovative teaching strategies to support each child's individual journey.

About the Role
As Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in the school’s strategic development, working closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders to drive improvement and innovation. Your leadership will ensure that all children achieve their full potential.

We are looking for someone passionate about SEND, with the ability to inspire staff, engage with parents, and create a positive, inclusive school culture.

  • Vision, innovation, and commitment to excellence, with the ability to motivate and support both staff and students.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND landscape, particularly autism, SEMH, and other complex needs.
