Join Our Supportive Team as a Teaching Assistant and Help Shape Young Lives!

Location: Danecourt School, with satellite provisions at Featherby Primary School (Gillingham) and Bligh Primary School (Strood)

Contracted Hours: 28.75 hours per week (8:45 am – 3:15 pm, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks, term-time only)

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEND) to reach their full potential? If you’re an enthusiastic, patient, and committed individual with experience in SEND education, we’d love for you to join our warm and dedicated team at Danecourt School.

As a Teaching Assistant at Danecourt, you’ll work closely with our teachers to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for primary-aged children with complex needs, including autism and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You’ll help pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through:

  • Tailored support for individual or small groups of students.
  • Providing personal care as needed to ensure students’ well-being.
  • Collaborating with our teaching staff to implement creative and effective learning strategies.
  • Encouraging independence and fostering a love of learning in each student.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who are:

  • Ideally qualified with an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Childcare or SEND practice.
  • Experienced in working with pupils with special educational needs, particularly autism (ASD).
  • Proficient in numeracy and literacy skills, with qualifications equivalent to GCSE Grade A-C.
  • Flexible, patient, and proactive, willing to take initiative and work as part of a supportive team.
  • Passionate about inclusive education, and committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of our students.
  • Comfortable providing personal care when required.
