We are seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Enrichment Leader to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team. The successful applicant will play a significant role in promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles amongst our students. The role involves leading active lunchtime supervision, arranging and running sports competitions, running/overseeing after-school clubs, assisting with school trips. 

Key Responsibilities:

Active Breaktime Supervision:
  • Oversee and engage students in physical activities during breaktimes to ensure they achieve 60 minutes of physical activity per day
  • Manage lunch time staff to ensure all children have access to a wide range of activities at lunchtimes
  • Maintain equipment and ensure it is used safely and appropriately.
Organising and Running Sports Competitions:
  • Coordinate and lead intra-school competitions to foster a competitive spirit amongst our students.
  • Organise and attend inter-school competitions, including sporting fixtures, with our school sport teams.
  • Assist in the organisation, and running of, large school sports events such as Sports Day
After-School Clubs:
  • Lead after-school sports clubs, providing a variety of activities to cater for different skill levels and target groups.
  • Ensure all activities are inclusive, safe, and enjoyable for all of our children.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Driving licence is essential and willingness to train to drive the school minbus
  • Relevant coaching qualifications and experience in working with children would be preferable
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to physical activities
  • First Aid certification is desirable but not necessary as school will be able to provide training

  • Patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the school and students.

 

Working hours are being proposed as 11am-4.30pm each day. However, there is flexibility around this which we will discuss with suitable candidates.

In April 2018 the school was graded as an Outstanding Church of England School during our SIAMS inspection.
We currently have 410 children on roll, organised into 14 classes. We have a very dedicated and extremely hardworking staff and "there is a relentless drive for constant improvement" (Ofsted October 2022) throughout the school.
