We are looking for a confident and effective senior finance officer ready to make a positive impact in our Trust central team.  The finance team is under an exciting stage of development and we are looking for someone who has a flexible and practical approach to change and who can be an important part of that evolution as we grow. You will already have excellent attention to detail, be adaptable and proactive and have great IT skills.  The successful applicant will be highly numerate and able to process complex information; an understanding of balance sheets and financial reports would be beneficial.  You will be able to act on your own initiative as well as be an important part of our team.

Experience of working in a secondary educational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

The successful candidate will support the Chief Finance and Operations Officer (CFOO) by preparing for month end which will include the bank reconciliation and other finance control accounts. There will also be a requirement to assist the CFOO with the preparations for the internal and external auditors. They will be responsible for accurately processing financial transactions using the Trust accountancy software, ensuring that correct financial controls are followed.  They will support the Finance Assistants with the processing of purchase orders and will work closely with the rest of the finance team to deliver outstanding service to all stakeholders.

We develop our staff through a professional growth model and treat everyone as an individual; we value personal strengths and qualities.  Our school is set in a 55 acre site midway between London and the Channel Ports and is easily commutable via major roads and motorways from London.  You will enjoy a unique working environment in the heart of the Weald of Kent including discounts and offers with Kent Rewards.   Staff are provided with an IT device.  There is also a nursery based on the school site which offers discounts to Trust Staff.

At Tenterden Schools Trust we will consider requests for flexible working on hiring. For this role, flexible hours are available. Please talk to us at the interview about the flexibility you need and we will explore what is possible.

If you have any queries, please contact Megan Wanstall, Human Resources 01580 764222 Ext 2351 or email vacancies@tenterden-schools-trust.com.

Closing date: 2nd October 2024 however an early application is encouraged as we review applications as we receive them.
