We are looking for a very special person to fill this post. If you are someone with multi agency experience and a commitment to supporting children facing challenging circumstances, then this could be the ideal job for you. We would like to recruit as soon as possible but would consider a September 2024 start for the right candidate.

The principal responsibility for this position is to manage the day to day liaison between the school and all agencies involved with vulnerable children, particularly Social Services and Early Help. A successful candidate will take responsibility for the safeguarding of all children and work alongside the Senior DSL to deliver the highest standard of support for the children throughout the school, including nursery.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Attendance at all Child Protection, Child in Need and Core Group meetings
  • Submitting Front Door referrals
  • Preparing reports and monitoring progress of individual children
  • Weekly liaison with the Senior Leadership Team
  • Management of child protection files
  • Maintaining the safeguarding register
  • Representing the school and supporting children in meetings with other professionals
  • Sharing information with all relevant parties
  • Respecting the confidentiality of all children and their families
  • Commitment to the school’s safeguarding policy and promoting child welfare

 

This position is for 25 HOURS per week (TERM TIME ONLY) start and finish times are flexible, depending on workload; however, you must be flexible and prepared to work 9am to 5pm to fit in with meetings. On the odd occasion you may be required to attend a meeting during the school holiday period.

Pay rate is Kent Range 7 (pro rata for 25 hours per week and 39 weeks per year)

Castle Hill is a lively two form entry Community Primary School with a Specialist Resource Provision for Hearing Impaired children. We also have responsibility for running a large and thriving Nursery which shares its premises with the Children Centre on our grounds. The school is situated in an urban area of East Folkestone, on a deceptively large site.
