We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our talented and supportive team.

You should be a positive and enthusiastic person who loves working with children and helping them to strive for their best. You should be interested in developing trusted relationships with children in order to support their wellbeing, and have the ability to inspire learning and support development.

You should have a good standard of general education with good numeracy and literacy skills.  Experience of working with children, good time management and the ability to work flexibly using your own initiative are essential.

Experience of working with students with complex needs is desirable, however all applications will be considered, and while an understanding of strategies used to support pupils with SEND needs in a mainstream school environment would be an advantage, it is not essential as relevant training will be given to the right candidates.  However, a passion for supporting vulnerable students is key.

  • Helping students to co-regulate emotions, so that they are prepared for learning
  • Leading 1:1 and group intervention programmes
  • Feeding back to the class teacher, maintaining records of progress and behaviour
  • Working with children to support any social, emotional, behavioural, personal care or medical needs
  • Liaising with parents and external professionals when relevant.

The successful candidate will have a high degree of emotional literacy and be able to develop strong relationships with colleagues and pupils, and demonstrate the following attributes:

  • a caring and calm nature
  • excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
