 Wraparound Care Manager

We require an enthusiastic, creative, person to work in our school, as a Wraparound Care Manager. With a relevant qualification at L3 or higher, you will be responsible for planning and managing the before and after school care in our 'Beehive Club' for our Nursery to Year 6 pupils as well as our holiday club. You will ensure the provision of high-quality care and a comprehensive range of appropriate stimulating and creative activities, for example arts and crafts, storytelling and physical play appropriate to the needs and interests of the children.

Salary: Kent Range 9

Hours: This role will be for 21.25 hours per week, 46 weeks per year. 

Term time

1.45pm - 6pm - Monday - Friday.

School holidays

February half term, Easter break, May half-term, 2 weeks of the Summer holidays (usually the first and last week)  and October half term - 21.25 hours per week - Monday to Wednesday - hours to be split across the 3 days in discussion with the Headteacher. 

Skills, Attributes and Experience

Essential

The following skills, attributes and experience are essential in the undertaking of this role:

  • A relevant qualification at L3 or higher 
  • Experience within either childcare or a school
  • Experience of administration
  • Experience of working in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work on own initiative, using judgement and common sense
  • Satisfactory DBS Clearance
  • Appropriate child protection training
  • A warm, friendly approach 

Desirable

 The following skills, attributes and experience are desirable in the undertaking of this role:

  • Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Food Hygiene Certificate
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in a childcare setting
  • Experience of working within a play-based setting
  • Any other skills or interests that may benefit the School community

Information about the school

Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is an inclusive, non-denominational school working in partnership with the Tunbridge Wells Primary Schools Collaborative Trust. The school was built in 1967 and is situated on the western edge of Tunbridge Wells in a leafy and pleasant residential area.

The school site is beautiful, elevated and fringed with green playing fields and woods. A fragrant quiet garden, pond and wooden structures in the grounds offer opportunities for happy playtimes.

We have just under 230 pupils in the primary and nursery classes. We also have a designation for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs who are all included in mainstream.

We run Wrap Around Care at the beginning of the day and after school for our school and nursery children and during the holidays we run a Holiday Club for all children in the community.
