The Stour Academy Trust are looking to appoint a Caretaker to oversee the maintenance and site duties at Thistle Hill Academy. We are looking for a pro-active, adaptable and positive individual to join our team.

This role is vital for ensuring the maintenance of the school premises, buildings and equipment to ensure the safety of pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will not only join the thriving Thistle Hill school community but will also be a part of, and collaborate with the Trust's fantastic Premises Team, lead by our experienced Trust Estates Lead.

A clean driving licence would be an advantage, but not essential.

The role includes responsibility for:

  • Site Security
  • General maintenance, repairs, cleaning and decorating
  • Regular fire, water and alarm tests and record keeping
  • You will need to unlock at the start of the day but here is no responsibility for locking up school at the end of the day in term time.
  • Completing annual training e.g. COSHH, Working at Height, Manual Handling etc. 

This role is:

  • 25 hours per week - 7am to 12pm approximately (specific hours subject to negotiation)
  • Monday - Friday
  • Term time working plus 25 days during school holidays
  • Pro-rata'd KR3 salary - approximately £13765

The successful candidate will have previous experience of building maintenance and knowledge of basic plumbing, joinery, electrical and decorating repair. Basic computer skills preferred but not essential.
