An exciting opportunity has arisen to run the library at Cornwallis Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and development of this essential and popular school resource, for fostering a love of reading and literature throughout the school, for the supervision of students in the library and for supporting academic staff to facilitate students’ independent study, research and reading for pleasure. You will work closely with the Director of English to ensure that the space continues to flourish and becomes an embedded and integral part to the day-to- day lives of our students.

Basic duties will include:

  • Logging book in/out
  • Monitoring/organising/communicating to parents/staff about overdue books
  • Supporting students when choosing books
  • Monitoring students during free/study time
  • General upkeep of the area
  • Leading on library/reading initiatives
  • Facilitating reading and 1-2-1 interventions as directed

We are seeking a candidate that can work between the hours of 8.30am and 2pm Monday-Friday and on a term time only basis (38 weeks per year).
