We have a vacancy for a full-time teaching assistant in our popular and friendly school to support children of all abilities within the classroom, under the direction of the class teacher. This is a fixed term contract with the possibility of being extended or made permanent. You will have the skills needed to engage individuals and groups of children in effective learning and have an interest in developing children's social skills, showing sensitivity to their individual needs. You will be a highly efficient, flexible and reliable person, able to forge positive relationships with children. You will be energetic, supportive and a positive team player, with a sense of humour and excellent communication skills. A willingness to support the Catholic ethos and to contribute to the wider life of the school is essential.  

 

Previous experience as a teaching assistant will be needed. You will have a willingness to contribute to the continued improvement of St.Teresa's school. In return, we offer a happy and supportive staff team and tailored professional development. We value our committed team, offering strong pastoral support to all. OFSTED has judged St Teresa's to be a good school (Jan 2020).

St. Teresa's Catholic Primary School is a single form entry school, based in Ashford, and serving the Parish of St Teresa of Avila, Ashford and the local area. St Teresa’s is a successful, friendly school situated in beautiful grounds close to Ashford town centre where people feel welcomed and cared for. Over time, the school has had consistently good judgements in all inspections including in its most recent Ofsted inspection (January 2020) and denominational inspection (March 2020).

We are proud to be part of a thriving community, that is well supported by our parents and families and the local parish church. Our children are regularly involved in church life.
