Chilmington Green Primary School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hardworking Teaching Assistant to support children with Behaviour Emotional & Social Needs as part of the school's Nurture Team. The ideal person will have a proven track record of managing a full range of challenging behaviours and a working knowledge of Boxall Nurture group strategies.

32.5 hours per week, 43 paid weeks per year (38 working weeks - term time + 5 weeks holiday). Pro rata on KR4 (£21,389) will be approximately £15,885 gross

The successful candidate will be working in a nurture group classroom and specialist resource provision in addition to supporting pupils in the mainstream classes. The post will involve:

  • Delivering well-being interventions
  • Continual assessment of social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Effective and regular liaison with other professionals
  • Supporting transitions from the nurture group and specialist resource provision to the mainstream classrooms
  • Delivering lessons under the guidance of the SENCo and class teacher

Information about the school

Location: Ashford, Kent UK Chilmington Green Primary School is a growing primary school on the new Chilmington Green development in Ashford. Opening in 2018 in a temporary building before moving into a state-of-the-art building in 2021. Pupil numbers are growing rapidly, currently standing at 260 pupils. We would encourage any applicant to visit the school for a tour. It is operating at one form entry in Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two and will eventually allow two forms of entry, as 60 Year R pupils join the school each year. The school nursery has a dedicated space for children aged 2 - 4 years old. The school also includes a Specialist Resource Provision for up to 14 pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
