Borden is seeking to appoint a Pastoral Support Worker to support Heads of Year in investigating and following up on pastoral incidents, and to support students with reintegration and restoration.  A person who has the ability to build relationships with difficult students and to apply behaviour management policies and strategies which contribute to a purposeful learning environment, and also develop a sense of community which reflects the school’s values.

Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure and to adapt quickly and effectively to changing situations.

This post is temporary until the end of the academic year and will be reviewed in line with budget requirements.  It is Term Time only, 35 hours per week, 8.30am - 3.30pm plus 5 Staff training days (39 weeks).  We will consider a reduced week of 21 hours, same timings as above over 3 days which will include a Tuesday.

Salary: Kent Range 5, full time equivalent £22,595 to £23,693/ pro-rata £18,547 - £19,448.

School experience is preferred but not essential.
