Advert

Chilmington Green School is a brand new secondary school which opened in September 2023 with its first Year 7 cohort. The school is part of the United Learning Trust and once at capacity, will be a six-form entry, co-educational, non-selective secondary with a 240 place 6th Form. The school is clustered with Wye School, a successful school which is also based in the Ashford area. We are currently looking for excellent, highly-motivated staff, with the vision and aspiration to be a part of the cluster from its founding stages, with the commitment to bring to life the United Learning ethos of the Best in Everyone through a curriculum, culture, environment, and structure that provides an exceptional educational offer for local young people.

Staff will form a dynamic team who are supportive, friendly, and dedicated to instilling the qualities of pride, respect, and resilience in the next generation of children, preparing them for successful, fulfilling and enjoyable adult lives. Chilmington Green will work collaboratively with Wye School (free school, 11-18) and, as a result, staff will benefit from richer and wider opportunities for continued professional development. The schools will build on United Learning’s successful track record nationally, providing an excellent secondary education for local children.

The Role

We are seeking a Cluster Deputy Inclusion Manager/SENCo who will work across both Wye School and Chilmington Green School alongside the Cluster Inclusion Manager to support the schools’ SEND offer and to implement the inclusive visions of the schools.

The successful candidate will join the cluster in April 2024 or sooner. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to shape Chilmington Green School from the early stages in its growth and emulate the successes of Wye School. Being part of a newly established cluster of schools will offer excellent professional development and future career prospects.

The successful candidate will be:

· An inspirational teacher who can successfully motivate and inspire students.

· Knowledgeable about special educational needs practices, intervention strategies, and relevant legislation.

· Committed to pursuing the SENCo qualification.

· Committed to ensuring that all pupils make excellent progress.

· Dedicated to their own professional development.

We can offer:

· Excellent ongoing CPD and career development opportunities.

· The opportunity to contribute to and shape the growth and development of the school from the moment of opening.

· Collaboration with colleagues from across the United Learning trust and across our local cluster of schools, Wye School and Ashford School.

· Potential for progression into middle and senior leadership opportunities.

· Working across a large and successful multi-academy trust with a shared curriculum, resources and subject specific support.

The ability to teach multiple subjects or outside of the main subject area is desirable but not essential. Applications are encouraged from candidates looking for progression into both middle and senior leadership positions.

We actively welcome visits and would be delighted to share with you our plans for the school. For a confidential discussion about this role, please contact:

United Learning is a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

United Learning schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. The subject specialists, Group-wide intranet, own curriculum, and online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment to bringing out the best in everyone. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit, and we are open to discussing flexible working options.

United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check.

Here at United Learning, we are committed to ensuring our employees feel valued and appreciated. Because we are a group, we can reward you better than any school could alone, and this includes your employee benefits.
