We are looking for a flexible and dedicated team-player who has a sense of humour, unlimited patience and ability to communicate and get on well with a large and diverse staff group.

 This role has a number of aspects including:

  • Site safety and security
  • Out of hours key holder
  • Unlocking/locking the school building
  • General repairs and maintenance
  • Hygiene and Health and Safety
  • Site maintenance
  • Liaising with cleaning and maintenance contractors

 

 This role will involve regular contact with children, staff and parents as well as contractors.

Ideally, the role will be 25 hours per week for 44 weeks a year, working from 1.00p.m. to 6.30p.m. Monday to Friday. This is a permanent, part-time position.

 The applicant should be someone who can relate to children and adults alike and have a flexible attitude to meet the ongoing needs and requirements of the school as well as being willing to immerse themselves in working at a happy, friendly primary school.

 Some experience is preferable but not necessary.

Wincheap Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Canterbury, close to routes into London, Ashford, Maidstone and Dover and within easy walking distance of the City Centre. The school is well resourced and occupies a large site with its own playing fields and Forest School. There are approx 440 pupils on roll.

The school offers its pupils a broad and balanced curriculum with an emphasis on the arts and has a specialist designation with a speech, language and communication department on site.
