An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St Augustine Academy. We are looking to appoint an experienced Safeguarding Officer.

The Safeguarding Officer will work under the direction and guidance of the Designated Safeguarding Lead/Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead with regards to the management of Safeguarding and Child protection issues with an integral link to student attendance throughout the school day and support the Senior Leadership Team in providing a safe environment in which students develop and learn.

The aim of the role is to cultivate a happy and safe community environment in which all young people are safe, supported and provided with the highest quality of care.

You will be expected to maintain accurate, confidential and up to date documentation on all cases of safeguarding and child protection through the Academies safeguarding management system (CPOMS).

The role will require the succesful candidate to work with a variety of agencies/professionals, therefore an ability/apptitude to be able to develop/nurture strong working relatinshiops with other professionals is essential.

Applicants will need to integrate within our friendly Academy team as well as needing excellent communication skills to develop a good relationship with students and staff.

This is a Full-time post, 37 hours per week

(working 8am – 4pm, Monday – Thursday and 8am – 3.30pm on a Friday. Term Time Only plus INSET days).

Salary:  WAT Grade F £22,259 - £24,402 (FTE £25,878 - £28,371)
