Advert

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a SENCO to join Herne C.E. (Aided) Junior School near Herne Bay, Kent.  We have a large staff team to support the inclusive practices that are well established across the school. This includes a Well-being Team, which consists of a Family Liaison Officer and two Learning Mentors.

We are looking to appoint an excellent, efficient, caring, creative and enthusiastic SENCO who will work as part of our Senior Leadership Team.

This is a fulltime position. The SENCO is expected to attend SLT meetings and Professional Development Meetings that are held after school on Mondays. The SENCO will also take a lead role in safeguarding at our school.

We are looking for an individual who can provide a strategic and operational oversight of provision for those pupils with SEND.  You will be supported by the Headteacher and SLT.  We expect you to ensure effective, efficient and clear communication to parents, pupils and staff, in addition to liaising with outside agencies.

A passion to work alongside our experienced staff team in the classrooms is essential.  We will expect you to promote an inclusive culture enabling all children to achieve their best, overcoming barriers to learning and participation.  Whilst it is desirable to have existing SENCO experience, applications from experienced teachers, who are willing to undertake the SENCO qualification are welcome.

Visits to see our school are encouraged. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour with either the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher.
