Information about the school

Sellindge Primary School is a thriving school situated in a small, semi-rural village, surrounded by farmland, between Ashford and Hythe. The original building dates back to 1900 but there have been recent renovations, including a new 6 classroom block in 2021, new playground and newly developed wildlife area giving the school a feeling of space both inside and out. The school was judged as ‘Good’ during a 2023 OfSTED inspection, with areas of outstanding provision, in Early Years and in Behaviour and Attitudes.

The school has recently expanded to become a 1FE school and, although the school is growing in size, most class sizes are currently smaller than the average. The school has 173 children on roll and maintains a small village school feel with a real sense of community amongst children, staff and families.

The school is dedicated to the welfare of our pupils and ensures that all members of staff are committed to our safeguarding policy.
