We are looking to appoint a brilliant SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at St Eanswythe's Church of England Primary School.

This is an opportunity to become a part of a forward-thinking team where you can develop your skills as a valued member of our support staff.  You must have the skills needed to work with SEND children; the ability to be able to plan and deliver bespoke interventions; and the ability to manage the different behaviours that each child exhibits at any given time.

We will expect you to promote an inclusive culture through St Eanswythe's Primary enabling all children to achieve their best, overcoming barriers to learning and participation.

This role is term time only, 9-12 pm Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside the SENCo to deliver agreed activities/interventions.
  • Providing specialist support so pupils are able to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with parents, carers and other professional/agencies e.g. speech therapists.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working with children with additional needs.
  • Be enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative and resilience
  • Be an effective communicator with pupils and staff
  • Have energy and patience, building effective relationships with pupils, treating them with respect.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.

St Eanswythe's C of E Primary School is a one form entry Church of England Academy. This thriving school is well established in the area with close links to The Church of St Mary & St Eanswythe. The school enjoys a central position in the town and benefits from the educational opportunities and amenities this offers. The school is single form entry and there are currently 213 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.
