An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St Augustine Academy as an Intensive Behaviour Support Worker.

We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Intensive Behaviour Support worker.

The aim of the role is to co-ordinate the support for youngsters with complex behavioural difficulties, helping these pupils to develop their academic, social and emotional skills through relevant support appropriate to the needs of each young person. This will involve working with small groups and/or individual pupils in and out of the classroom.

  • You will need to be innovative in creating bespoke programmes of study for these individuals to access.
  • You will need to make considerable use of effective communication and conciliatory skills including the use of restorative practices with pupils, staff and families.
  • You will need to be experienced at managing difficult conversations, meetings and diffusing challenging behaviour.

Applicants will need to integrate within our friendly Academy team as well as needing excellent communication skills to develop a good relationship with students and staff.

This is a Full-time post, 37 hours per week (working 8am – 4pm, Monday – Thursday and 8am – 3.30pm on a Friday. Term Time Only plus INSET days).
