We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to help accelerate the learning and personal development of the children and to enable them to make the best use of the educational opportunities available at St. Ethelbert’s. This will be as a class-based teaching assistant role in Early Years or Key Stage 1.

We welcome Catholic and Non-Catholic applicants. Non-Catholic’s must be able to support the Catholic life and ethos of the school and have good numeracy and literacy skills.

This role is required for 31 hours a week. (8:30am - 3:15pm Monday to Friday). 30 minutes lunch time supervision is included in the hours.

Pay Scale KR 3 £21,293 pro rata.

This post is subject to a 6-month probation period. This is a temporary contract for one year initially but likely to be made permanent.

Information about the school

St Ethelbert’s Catholic Primary School is a one form entry school set in the heart of the Georgian town of Ramsgate, Kent, just a short walk from the beaches overlooking the English Channel. The school had its last Ofsted Inspection in June 2019 and is rated Good. It had a denominational inspection in May 2023 and is rated Outstanding. Our staff and governors are hard-working, caring, supportive and friendly and the children are very well behaved. With our church being on the school site we are building strong links with our local community. Our school motto is ‘High Expectations for all, in the Light of Christ’. Children are encouraged to fulfil their potential through a curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils, develops independence and enquiry-based learning skills and offers appropriate challenges so that they achieve the highest possible standards in all areas of their lives.
