Northbourne CEP School are looking to appoint two 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join our team for September 2023, however, an earlier start in Term 6 may be possible for the right candidate. (This is a contract attached to an individual pupil’s SEN funding. The post will be reviewed annually, according to the funding for the pupil.)

Salary: KR4 (currently £10.42 per hour increasing to £11.09 in September)

Hours: 27.5hrs per week

Responsible to: SENCO and Class Teacher

The positions are:-

EYFS 1:1 TA - Would you like to have the opportunity to support a child in our Reception class with a hearing impairment and complex needs? 

Year 1 1:1 TA - Would you like to have the opportunity to support a child in our Year 1 class with their communication, speech and language learning?

Could you help them grow and flourish, and play a pivotal role in nurturing their learning and social development?

Are you passionate about helping young people fulfil their potential? Do you have experience working with children in the primary range?  Do you have the ability to inspire children and encourage them to grow in independence and self-confidence?

We are seeking to appoint hardworking and friendly 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with their learning, communication and personal development. You will ideally have experience of working with pupils in a school or nursery setting, however, we are able to provide additional training for the right candidate. You will need to have a high level of literacy and numeracy and, ideally, some experience of improving outcomes for pupils both academically, emotionally and socially.

We are looking for someone who is determined to secure the absolute best for children and will work hard to ensure they achieve everything they are capable of. As well as in the classroom, some support during unstructured play such as playtimes and lunchtimes will also be required.

The successful candidate(s) will have to meet the requirements of the person specification and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Only applications submitted on the Kent Teach application form will be considered. We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.

Northbourne CEP School is a rural, five class primary school, located within the beautiful countryside near Northbourne village and a short 5 minute drive from the towns of Deal and Sandwich. We are a happy and vibrant school looking to add to our team.

Our traditional Victorian building has been thoughtfully extended to accommodate a modern Early Years classroom and 4 further mixed-age classrooms. We have extensive grounds which accommodate our large sports field, adventure play area, wild meadow and orchard, spiritual garden, allotments and greenhouses, chicken coop and honey bee hives, plus our established and hugely popular Forest School.

Northbourne is proud to be a Church of England Primary School. We currently have an Outstanding grading for SIAMS which reflects our strong Christian ethos and the links we have with our local churches. Northbourne was graded Good by OFSTED in September 2016.

At Northbourne we pride ourselves on our strong sense of community and family. We have close links with St Augustine's Church in Northbourne village and also work closely alongside our local Deal primary schools.
