Ifield School are looking to recruit a hard working, conscientious cleaner to join our friendly site team to  cover maternity leave on a fixed term contract for 15 hours per week, from June 2023 until June 2024, subject to review.   

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining areas of our Special School to ensure they are kept in a clean, hygienic and safe condition. You will be employed on Kent Pay Range 3 (approx £11.04 per hour) pro-rata, and will be required to work for three hours per day, Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 9.00am or alternatively 3.00pm to 6.00pm during term-time (39 weeks) plus four weeks during the school holidays. Please note that some flexilibity is required as these timings will differ during the school holidays.

In addition, the postholder will receive a payment in respect of their pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade, Bank Holidays and the KCC concessionary day. 

Applicants will be reliable, flexible, trustworthy and expected to have experience of cleaning to a high standard and be confident in the use of relevant cleaning equipment. You will also need to be able to work within set routines and to form effective working relationships with colleagues and other members of staff.

It is essential that you understand and are able to apply health and safety procedures relevant to the job.

The successful candidate will also require good everyday communication skills and written and numeracy skills appropriate to the role.
