MPS/UPS - TLR 2C plus R&R of up to £5,000*

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic leader of Modern Foreign Languages, to lead a department of dedicated staff.  Applicants will have experience in teaching French and/or Spanish to students of all abilities supporting them to reach their academic potential.  The successful applicant will be able to work in a fast paced environment, have excellent interpersonal skills, be dedicated to improving performance and have the drive and ambition to effect change.  This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring and aspirational individual to develop a thriving MFL department.

About the role

You will be joining a well-established and friendly team of specialist teachers of Languages who work collaboratively to ensure quality first teaching is the priority for all students. Teachers of modern foreign languages teach both KS3 and KS4. Students study AQA GCSE at Key Stage 4 and a comprehensive Key Stage 3 scheme is in place with shared resources.

As a school we are proud to offer our KS3 students timetabled enrichment each week. All staff are expected to offer an activity for this Enrichment which could be related to the teacher’s specialist subject or an area in which they are passionate about. This is an excellent opportunity for both staff and students to benefit from a wider curriculum and gives an opportunity for staff to promote our school ethos with students beyond the boundaries of their classrooms.

This role will also include being responsible for the pastoral care of a Mentor group.

A Recruitment and Retention payment of up to £2,000 may be offered for the right candidate.

Interviews will be held on 18 or 19th May.
