38 weeks term time and 1 week during summer school holidays per year

We are looking for a cleaner to join our team. At Mereworth Community Primary School we take pride in the high standards of presentation at our school. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, diligent cleaner to join our premises team in undertaking a full range of cleaning duties.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  1. Undertake cleaning of allocated areas in line with specified standards and as directed
  2. Operate / use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training
  3. Store allocated equipment and materials safely and securely
  4. Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazards are identified, report serious hazards to line manager immediately
  5. Collect and dispose of waste
  6. Refill and replace soap, towels and other materials
  7. Notify the Line Manager or other senior member of staff, of any Health & Safety concerns including damage to building, equipment or anything that may be dangerous to pupils and/or staff

Mereworth Community Primary School is a popular village school situated between Maidstone and Tonbridge. We are a vibrant, single form entry school situated in wonderful grounds which are used extensively to enhance the delivery of the curriculum. The school building is a mixture of Victorian, 1960’s and modern rooms. We have indoor learning zones which includes a library, a music room, computer room and a Design & Technology room. We have extremely supportive parents and governors and wonderfully caring, polite and well behaved children.
