Are you currently a HLTA or Science technician working in a Science department who would like to become a science teacher with our financial and mentoring support?

If you are prepared to study for the teaching qualification to gain the professional formation to become a teacher, we would love to hear from you.  There is an expectation that unqualified teaching staff become qualified within a period of 3 years.

We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic to assist in providing high quality teaching and learning in  Biology.  This challenging yet highly rewarding role will need an organised, innovative and child centred approach.   

The successful applicant will be part of a solid team whose aims are to nurture, encourage and develop a love of education for all pupils who attend our school. We aim to inspire and support children who are being given a fresh start to exceed their expectations and progress towards their career path at the end of Year 11.

Applicants need to be dynamic and dedicated to providing an exceptional environment for pupils to thrive and achieve, not only in academic study, but across their lives generally.  For many students, the Maidstone & Malling Alternative Provision is providing a fresh start and we work hard to ensure that standards are stretched and improved in order to provide the best learning opportunities for our students.

Information about the school

The Maidstone and Malling Alternative Provision (MMAP) is located approximately 1 mile from the centre of Maidstone and is the hub of the Maidstone and Malling Inclusion Service.

The Provision supports young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties from KS3 to KS4. These students may be at risk of permanent exclusion from their mainstream setting and the Provision offers outreach, transition and respite support for KS3 students. The placements in KS4 are usually longer term to enable students to complete their qualifications.

Maidstone and Malling Alternative Provision is committed to the education and social development of all its students and our broad curriculum provides the opportunities for our students to be successful academically and vocationally.

Our Ofsted inspection in November 2019 was rated Good with Outstanding elements and we are continuing to develop the quality of learning and our holistic strategies.
