Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with their development and learning? Are you keen to develop new skills? Come and join our fantastic team at Foreland Fields School!

Our school is currently undergoing an exciting phase of expansion and therefore, we have a number of vacancies across our provision for Mid-Day Meals Supervisors, beginning in September, or earlier if possible.

Our pupils and students have a wide range of needs, including difficulties with communication, learning, physical and sensory development as well as medical and care needs. All pupils and students have either severe or profound learning difficulties and many also have a diagnosis of autism. Classes are needs led and pupils and students follow personalised learning journeys along different curriculum pathways, depending on their individual needs.

Mid-Day Meals Supervisors are appointed to the whole school and may be required to work with any needs type or age group.  Duties include supporting pupils and students with their eating and drinking, their personal care and their development through play and other planned learning activities. Some of our Mid-Day Meals Supervisors undertake additional training to be able to support pupils in our hydrotherapy pool. Mid-Day Meals Supervisors work for 2 hours per day, across the lunchtime period.

Whilst relevant qualifications and experience would be an advantage, they are not essential (please refer to the Mid-Day Meals Person Specification). We provide all staff with a full week of induction training, which includes Moving and Handling, Makaton, Pool Evacuation, Behaviour and Safeguarding Training. We are committed to providing aspirational outcomes for all our students and we will provide regular specialist training for all staff, throughout their careers at Foreland Fields School. Essential training for Mid-Day Meals Supervisors takes place during 5 INSET days over the year.

If you are interested in working with us at Foreland Fields School – please have a look at our website www.foreland.kent.sch.uk where you will find useful information about our pupils and students and their needs, the curriculum and the strategies that we use to support learning.

Candidates are welcome to contact Sarah Thorp (Deputy Headteacher) during school hours by telephone (01843 863891) if they would like to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
