Specialist Resource Provision for students with Autism

 

Kent Range 3 (£21,293 FTE/£17,478.95 pro rata) - 35hrs p.w., 39 weeks p.a. (Term Time + 5 Training Days)

Start Date: Thursday 1st September 2023 – Fixed Contract until 24th May 2024

The Langton would like to offer a recent graduate an exciting opportunity to work in an outstanding school and support in a specialist resource provision for students with autism.  This role could be the first steps in a career in teaching, offering practical experience in schools and supporting students with special educational needs, or a chance to improve your CV.  You will develop a range of key skills, including: communication, patience, organisation, team work and empathy.

The role involves working under the guidance of the SENCO to support in the educational and social development of students with autism.  Experience of working with young people aged 11-18 with additional needs, specifically those students diagnosed on the autistic spectrum, is desirable but not essential.  The candidate must show an understanding of autism and demonstrate the ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. 

The successful candidate will develop positive relationships with students, parents, staff and agencies to help support our students to reach their potential. They will need to be a motivated individual, who is both able to work independently as well as within a team. A friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning is necessary, with the ability to engage with and embrace a range of subjects.  You will be working in an outstanding school, where there are opportunities for development and advancement.
