We would like to appoint a committed Family Liaison Officer. We are looking for a FLO to join our nurturing school community to provide early intervention, support and guidance to children and families in order to increase attendance, well-being, engagement with the school and to improve outcomes for children. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a strong, supportive team within our popular, successful school.  We have a well-established team of incredible people with a positive and supportive ethos.

Our FLO will work to support all our families experiencing a range of challenges. We pride ourselves on being fully inclusive and are looking for someone who shares our vision of educating the whole child; physically, academically, emotionally and spiritually. The post is full-time, 5 days (37 hours) a week.

You will be working closely with our families, to develop home/school partnerships, remove barriers to learning and promote positive attitudes towards school and education.  It is a rewarding role for someone with the necessary skills and experience, and engaging personality.  As a FLO, you will have a strong belief in inclusion and the right for each child to be successful whatever their needs and abilities with a strong understanding of safeguarding.

We would really like to meet you if:

  • You are sensitive, caring and determined to make a difference
  • You have a commitment to excellence in your own practice
  • You are enthusiastic, hardworking and a team player
  • You have sound experience of supporting parents/carers, a vast knowledge of external agencies/services and the ability to liaise with other professionals
  • You can deliver parenting workshops, intervention programmes to support the emotional wellbeing of children and families, and 1:1 support for individuals focused on specific needs.
  • You have experience of working with primary aged children
  • You have excellent communication skills with GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • You have a sense of humour, a positive attitude and enjoy working as a proactive member of a team of staff who put children at the centre of everything they do.
  • You have the skills and experience to work with families to support pupils through their education, and work with external agencies to provide the best outcomes for our pupils
  • You have the skills to aid parents & pupils to improve attendance in school

We can offer:

  • Well-motivated, happy and enthusiastic children who love learning and achieve well
  • A place to work that helps every child be the very best that they can be
  • A highly effective, enthusiastic and caring team
  • An on-going CPD programme and induction
  • The opportunity to be part of the forward-thinking school
  • Supervision and an SLT who will encourage and support you

Above all, we are seeking an inspirational person to join our team who has high expectations for our families and children. So, if you feel you have the experience and the drive, we would love to hear from you.

Visits to the school are encouraged; please contact Miss Harrington, Headteacher to make an appointment via email or the school office. All applications must be made via Kent-teach using the application form. Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Any appointment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

In our inclusive and unique community with two distinctively Christian foundations, every experience enables all to flourish as individuals and to thrive as God intended; mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

We are an inclusive, child-centred, family school at the heart of our community guided by the words of Jesus - ‘I have come that they may have life, life in all its fullness’ John 10:10. Jesus gave his disciples a vision of a life that is full of possibilities and dreams yet to be met.
