An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Food Technology technician at St Augustine Academy in Maidstone.

Applicants should have a knowledge of working within a food environment / kitchen and have a working knowledge of Health and Safety. You will be enthusiastic about food and the catering in the home and within different professional settings. You must be competent in the use of kitchen appliances and be able to deal with face to face communications.

The successful applicant will be required to help out on a range of tasks, including, but not restricted to:

• To help prepare materials to facilitate demonstrations and practical lessons, clearing away and proper storage.

• Maintain a high standard of hygiene and safety in the department including cleaning and maintenance of food storage facilities, refrigerators, freezers, laundry, and other electrical equipment.

• Maintaining inventory, checking stock, and ordering including occasional shopping.

• Filing, photocopying and maintaining records.

• Any other reasonable request, as necessary to support the department.

• It would be advantageous if you have a first aid certificate or the willingness to train.

You will need to have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across a wide spectrum of people. You will need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have the aptitude and initiative to solve problems and plan your work load.

The hours are 30 hours a week, working 9am to 3.30pm ( with an unpaid break of 30 minutes) Monday to Friday, Term Time only.

Salary:- WAT Support Grade D pts 6-9 £15,252 - £16,104 (Full Time Equivalent £21,968 - £23,194)
