Are you an experienced TA who enjoys leading interventions? Would you like to work with Nursery and Infant aged children to help them develop fundamental Speech and Language skills? If so, we are looking for you!

We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant experienced in supporting children from Nursery to Year 2 with Speech and Language needs.  This is a temporary position until August 2024.

This role is term time only, 9-3pm. 

 Responsibilities also include

  • Working alongside the SENCo to deliver agreed activities/interventions.
  • Providing specialist support so pupils are able to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with parents, carers and other professional/agencies e.g. speech therapists.

The successful candidate will

  • Have experience of working with children with additional needs.
  • Be enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative and resilience
  • Be an effective communicator with pupils and staff
  • Have energy and patience, building effective relationships with pupils, treating them with respect.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • See the glass as 'half full' with a positive, solution focused approach to challenges.

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 300 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.
