We are looking for a part time (Mon-Fri) 28.5 - 30 hours Teaching Assistant to work in KS1 or KS2 to support in-class learning in the morning and additional learning in the afternoon across the school. There might also be the possibility of more hours covering Breakfast Club - should this be of interest. This post will be temporary in the first instance for at least one year, but there is the possibility of the role being made permanent.

We are searching for a bubbly, positive and enthusiastic person to join our friendly and supportive team. We need a TA with flexibility, a positive outlook, experience in learning support, and the ability to contribute to our school’s community and vision.

The successful applicant will be sensitive to children’s varying needs, and be able to work under the guidance of the teaching team and Leadership Team.

Applicants should preferably be qualified to NVQ 2, and have knowledge of the development and learning styles of children and special educational needs. Ideally, knowledge of delivering Speech and Language interventions and assessments using Language Link and Speech Link would be advantageous.

We are able to provide training for the right candidate and would look for employment starting asap.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Support an individual and groups of children in achieving the lesson objectives
  • Teach intervention groups in KS1 and KS2.
  • Feed back to the class teacher, keeping records of progress and behaviour and marking pupils' work
  • Support the learning and social and emotional needs of the class
  • Supervise lunchtime as a Midday Meals Supervisor on a daily basis
  • Communicate with parents
  • Prepare resources and some administrative work
  • Deliver specialist interventions to small groups (training provided)

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Background checks and an enhanced CRB will be required.
