Head of Maths

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.

Salary: £42,000 per annum

Location: This role is based across our Dartford and Gravesend campuses, although there may be a requirement to travel to other College sites as required.

Here at North Kent College, we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Maths to join our busy Maths department working across our Dartford campus which currently has 650 enrolled students on our Maths qualifications and Gravesend campus which has 200 students following a Maths qualification as part of their vocational programme.

 

This position is both a teaching and leadership role, where you will be teaching students for up to 600 hours per year at our Functional Skills and Foundation GCSE levels, as well as leading four Maths teachers and working alongside both our Head of English and Assistant Principal – Maths & English to contribute to the strategic direction and daily management of our Maths & English departments.

At NKC, we are very proud of our achievements within the Maths and English department, with our students achieving Maths GCSE and Functional Skills above the national average for the FE sector, in addition to high additional attendance through our continued support from the vocational curriculum areas.

This role is a full-time role over 52 weeks per annum, in return we’ll give you 42 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, and you’ll be enrolled onto the Teachers’ Pension Scheme which also includes life assurance.
