We are a large, inclusive primary school in Gravesend who are committed to ensuring all our pupils have the opportunity to fulfil their potential. We wish to appoint a full-time teaching assistant, supporting pupils with special educational needs.

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable teaching assistant to join our supportive and experienced team. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to provide appropriate levels of support to children with additional needs, alongside general classroom support

Person Specification

You will need to be a hardworking TA who has the skills and passion to support pupils with SEN. This is a unique opportunity to have a real impact on their lives, assisting them with their learning and development.

Applicants should hold a recognised qualification in Learning Support, NVQ level 2 or equivalent, be willing to undertake this training or be able to demonstrate the relevant experience.

Please be aware that this is a temporary post and may come to an end if the relevant funding ceases.

St John’s is a four-form entry primary academy located in Gravesend, serving the Parish of St John the Evangelist and the local area. It is part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership (KCSP), a multi-academy trust established by the Archdiocese of Southwark for Catholic education across Kent which currently comprises of 26 academies (21 primary and 5 secondary).

St John’s is an inclusive academy. Its dedicated staff, helpers and governance committee members work hard to ensure that every student is supported and challenged to be their very best. Each individual is encouraged to grow spiritually and intellectually, so that unique and positive contributions can be made to society and the world.
