Are you an inspirational EYFS teacher looking for a job in September 2023?

Are you passionate about leading the EYFS?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our small village Church of England primary school with a friendly community feel.

We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner with high standards and expectations in our EYFS. We are a half form entry school with 15 children in our reception class, supported by the class teacher and a TA.

We will provide you with dedicated and regular release time, enabling you to make a real difference to our enthusiastic children. Working with our dedicated team of teachers and support staff, well-behaved and motivated children and supportive parents and governors, we promise to support and develop you as you take the next steps in your teaching career. A keen subject interest in STEM, RE or PE would be desirable but is not essential. A willingness to work in a team and a flexible approach is essential alongside initiative and the ability to take ideas forward.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Be a skilful teacher, committed to the highest of expectations for all children.
  • Be able to lead the EYFS as the EYFS class teacher of 15 children, supported by an experienced TA
  • Be experienced in the teaching of phonics (we use Little Wandle but training would be given)
  • Understand what makes effective learning
  • Be a learner themselves – open to challenge and the exploration of new approaches.
  • Be a committed team member, show initiative and proactively work to improve their practice.
  • Promote the principles of inclusion by enabling every child to overcome barriers to learning in order to achieve.
  • Have very high expectations of behaviour and be committed to establishing positive relationships with every child.
  • Deliver an innovative and creative curriculum that engages children and builds their resilience
  • Have experience of subject leadership
  • Have a great sense of humour

We offer:

  • A small friendly, but outwardly looking, school environment with close community links.
  • A brilliant, supportive and dedicated staff team.
  • A school that cares about your workload and your wellbeing.
  • Children who are enthusiastic learners with supportive families.
  • A school that is committed to helping staff develop through excellent CPD and working with colleagues in other schools through the DEALT Academy and Deal Learning Alliance (DLA).
  • A school that is passionate about learning.

We are committed to safer recruitment and the protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS, reference checks and proof of the right to work in the UK. We are committed to promoting equality and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

We strongly encourage potential candidates to arrange a visit with the Head Teacher and a chance to see our lovely school. Please phone on 01304 374852  or email Dawn Theaker at headteacher@sholdenprimary.org.uk providing a contact telephone number, to arrange a visit.
