Due to the continued growth of the school, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed teacher for a Reception class. ECT applicants should clearly outline their teaching practice experience in the application form. Candidates who are able to start within the school year will be considered alongside those who will be available from September.

You will be joining a positive, supportive team fully committed to inclusion and with high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour. Both pupils and staff at our school are expected to do their best and improve what their best can be.

Finding the right person to fit with our team and pupils is crucial, therefore visits are strongly encouraged to help you decide that our school really is the fantastic place we believe it to be! Our website will give you plenty of extra information...

Please contact the school office to book an appointment.

The School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. At interview your motivation for working with children will be explored as well as how you meet the person specification. The selection process will also consist of activities including working with some of our pupils. Appointment to this post will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Please apply by fully completing the online application form available on this website, detailing how you meet the person specification.

Information about the school

Bysing Wood is a friendly Primary School located on the western outskirts of Faversham. The school is growing in popularity, building on a successful Ofsted and the fantastic range of facilities offered alongside a great atmosphere. Currently the school has 215 children on roll, organised in most year groups as a single form of entry from Reception to Year 6, although Year 2 has 2 classes and three other classes are full. A building project to become 2 form entry over the next few years has been completed and provides the base for our Key Stage 2 classes. September 2018 saw the start of a Forest School provision on site and we opened a pre-school in January 2020, catering for 2,3 and 4 year olds. In March 2020, we were a founder member of EKC Schools Trust, which provides access to the EKC Group colleges' resources to further enrich our curriculum. At Bysing Wood Primary School we value each child as an individual and encourage them to achieve their personal best in a happy, secure, stimulating environment. The displays in school are a major strength and help evidence the rich, relevant, termly topic-based curriculum (with associated visitors and trips) on offer. Our staff are committed to developing the whole child, encouraging learning through knowledge, skills and practical activities. We also support them to become tolerant, respectful and caring individuals who enjoy their work and play and are proud of their achievements. The proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals is high, pointing to the social and economic challenges facing a proportion of our families, although the profile is changing over time as the housing developments in Faversham come on stream.
